August 17 - Paul Blackburn threw seven scoreless innings as the visiting Oakland Athletics blanked the St. Louis Cardinals 8-0 on Wednesday. Blackburn (3-3) held the Cardinals to six hits and a walk while striking out eight batters. Cardinals starting pitcher Matthew Liberatore (2-5) allowed six runs (five earned) on 10 hits and three walks in 4 1/3 innings. Nick Allen hit a single and was thrown out trying to score on Esteury Ruiz's double, but Gelof followed with an RBI single. Ruiz drew a walk, stole second and scored on Gelof's RBI double.

August 16 - Nolan Arenado went 4-for-5 with a two-run homer as the St. Louis Cardinals defeated the visiting Oakland Athletics 6-2 on Tuesday. Lars Nootbaar hit a single, Paul Goldschmidt followed with an RBI double and Arenado ripped his two-run homer. The A's finally got to Hudson in the seventh inning. St. Louis loaded the bases again in the seventh inning, but Motter hit an inning-ending grounder. Edman hit his homer in the eighth inning to increase the St. Louis lead to 6-2.

August 2 - Donovan Solano delivered a decisive two-run, pinch-hit single in the seventh inning as the visiting Minnesota Twins edged the St. Louis Cardinals 3-2 on Tuesday to snap their five-game losing streak. Tyler O'Neill hit a solo home run for the Cardinals, who lost for the eighth time in their last 11 games. With one out, Jordan Walker hit a ground ball to third baseman Jorge Polanco and raced to third after a wild throw. Taylor Motter hit a leadoff single, took second on Lars Nootbaar's one-out single and scored on Nolan Arenado's two-out single. Nootbaar and Paul Goldschmidt hit two-out singles in the eighth inning before Arenado flied out to strand both runners.
